Artist Bios

Isabel Cary

A California native, she began her training at the Academy of Dance in San Luis Obispo. Scholarship in many summer intensives as Pacific Northwest Ballet, Walnut Hill, The Rock, and the American Ballet Theater.

During her professional training Isabel attend the University of North Carolina School of the Arts’ ballet program, and was invited in 2012 on scholarship to the JKO School at the American Ballet Theater under direction of Franco DeVita, where she also began to work with the ABT Studio Company performing soloist roles as well in the ABT’s Met Season.

In 2014 she joined the Washington Ballet as an artist under the direction of Septime Weber. While at Washington Ballet some of her performing credits include featured roles in Swan Lake, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Serenade and Nutcracker.

She began guesting for the Ballet Virginia and was thrilled to join their inaugural professional season under direction of Suzane Lownsbury and Janina Michalski, some of her highlights in her time with Ballet Virginia are new works created by Lydia Roberts Coco and her debut on Sleeping Beauty as Aurora.

Isabel is currently the Principal Dancer at AMA Dance Theatre and has performed in "Nós, Vós, Eles", as well classical ballets as Dying Swan, Giselle, and is looking forward to reviving the role of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Ms. Cary is also Faculty for the AMA Dance Theatre Foundation and School.

Victoria Jaenson

Originally from Kampala, Uganda, Victoria began her formal dance training at the age of seven in Vermont. She later studied at the Rock School in Philadelphia, under directors Stephanie and Bo Spassoff. In 2017, Victoria spent a year studying at The Hartt School at University of Hartford. In the fall of 2018, Victoria joined Charlotte Ballet II under the artistic direction of Hope Muir. There, Victoria had the opportunity to perform Alonzo King’s Map; Medhi Walerski’s Petit Cérémonie; Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s Nutcracker and Peter Pan; Christian Spuck’s Leonce and Lena; and Matthew Hart’s Sleeping Beauty. In January 2020, Victoria was awarded 2nd Place in the Senior Classical Division at the Ballet Beyond Borders dance festival in Montana. In summer 2021, she performed with Des Moines Metro Opera as a dancer for the operas “Platée” and “Queen of Spades.” Victoria has danced with Ballet Theatre Company in West Hartford for the 2021/22 & 2022/23 seasons, under Stephanie Dattellas. She has had the pleasure of performing roles like Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, the lead in the Sapphire scene in Aladdin, Princess Florine in Bluebird pas and many other roles with the company. Victoria also guests with Dimensional Dance, based in Hartford, working under Ruth Lewis. She had the honor of performing in “Whole-Souled Women: The Story of Prudence Crandall and Sarah Harris,” sharing a powerful story about education for young black girls in Connecticut this past Spring. This past Nutcracker season 2022, she guested with City Ballet of Boston performing the lead role of Vine in their flowers scene.
Victoria is so excited to be performing the role of Lilac Fairy in AMA Dance Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty.

McGee Maddox

Hailing from the Great State of South Carolina Mr. Maddox is a former Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Canada where he danced works by choreographers ranging from George Balanchine and James Kudelka to Alexei Ratmansky and Wayne MacGregor. After leaving the National Ballet in January ’17 he joined the 1st national tour of the hit Broadway show An American In Paris to play Jerry Mulligan and was touring as The Rum Tum Tugger in the national tour of Cats up until the global pandemic. Currently performing at the Metropolitan Opera House ensemble.

McGee performs as Prince Désiré in AMA Dance Theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty.

George Sanders

George performs as The Bluebird and one of Aurora’s Suitors in AMA Dance Theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty.

Celina Lopes

Celina trained and graduated from the Hartt School with her BFA in Dance Pedagogy. She has danced for multiple contemporary, modern, and ballet companies throughout the east coast, and has performed internationally at the Edinburgh Fridge Festival. This is Celina's second season with ADT, and she is so excited to continue to grow and thrive with the directors and dancers!

James Felton

Michigan native James Felton II started training at Sandra Brewer’s Dance Connection and later with Flint Youth Ballet under the direction of Karen Mills-Jennings. Graduating from Western Michigan University in the Spring of 2021, James earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography before joining West Hartford’s Ballet Theatre Company as a Company Artist in the Spring of 2022. Since relocating to New England James has also appeared as a Guest Artist with City Ballet of Boston, Dimensional Dance, and now AMA Dance Theatre. James’ repertoire includes Principal and Soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Paquita , Giselle, Le Corsaire and Swan Lake, and The Four Temperaments in addition to original works by choreographers Jennifer Archibald, Darrel Grand Moulterie, Seyong Kim, Melanie Ramos, Mike Esperanza, Monique Haley, David Curwen, and more. Nadia Bradfield

Originally from Los Angeles, California. She has been training since she was 4 years old, competing and attending summer intensives all over the country. Currently in her second year at the Hartt School of Dance in Hartford. She looks forward to joining a company as a full-time dancer after graduating. Nadia is very excited to be in Sleeping Beauty with ADT as the Fairy of Generosity and Aurora’s Friend & Jewels.

Conor Whitbey

From Columbia, Missouri, Conor is currently training at the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Dance as a second year. Previously he spent his years traveling across the country with his home studio. He has been dancing for 11 years, and has an aspiration in becoming a professional dancer and choreographer. Conor performs in AMA Dance Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty as one of Aurora’s Suitors and The Wolf.

Mallory Cash

Mallory Cash is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer currently basedin Rhode Island. Her training began in Northern California andincludes a Bachelor's in Arts, Media, and Entertainment from TheUniversity of Arizona. She has danced in classical and contemporaryworks including: The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Firebird, TheNutcracker, and Paquita excerpts. She enjoys dancing and teaching withProvidence Ballet Theatre and is thrilled to join AMA Dance Theatre inThe Sleeping Beauty as the Fairy of Courage & Jewels.

Gabriel Wittrup

Gabriel began training in dance at age of 8 in Geneva, Switzerland, and moved to Massachusetts where he continued training at the South Shore Conservatory. He is in his first year at the Hartt School of Dance and is looking forward to seeing where college will take him, and is willing to learn more about performance, teaching and choreographing.
